Why was the cutting stage skipped?

At first I thought that her video would be exactly what I was looking for DIY sheer VOILE French door curtains. However; She wasn't very clear on how to measure, fold and cut for the top/bottom and sides for a French stitch. She also needs to do more of a close up of her sewn hem. Her instructions on how to hold the slippery fabric and sew the seem is unclear and she just went too fast to really understand the steps. Maybe this video is for people who have done this before and not beginners like myself.

Hi. I’ve made my French Voil curtains which have approx twelve inches macramé lace at the bottom and are hung on a wire to the windowsill. I have made four more, which are longer and will hang on a track and end appropriately seven inches below the sill. I want to line them using a light gold fabric. However, I’m unsure what material to Use and which will hang into the folds. I have thought of Duchess Satin? Is there a fabric that you could recommend please? Many thanks very much

Remember to bang the iron down on the board as hard as you can. It is absolutely essential in the seam pressing process.

Clear and easy, but doesn't solve my problem. A engineer had to remove one from the wall to get more clearance for a cupboard, but he lost it and now I cannot find the size of bracket I need to put my blind back up again. I bought news ones, thinking they were the smallest size I could get. But they were too big, so I am still on the hunt.

I love the cardboard trick.

Throughout the whole video it shows no plastic tab on the end of the header tape but in the last section when the curtain goes on the pole all of a sudden the plastic tab is on the end !!!! This makes a difference to how they tie at the back so not a great video to follow.

I wonder how I can prevent the stitching of the side seams from slightly shortening the length of the voiles and causing the the hem rise up on the ends? I’ve tried the lowest possible tension , I’ve ironed and yet I lose a good cm of height. Having a leaded manufactured hem it’s a shame because I’ve had to hem it again to straighten this out in order for the curtain to hang parallel to the floor. Puckering is such a Pain

don't know who showed you how to make a curtain ... tapes go to the end of the fabric ... for a start ... ME: 40 years in the trade

Thanks for sharing but difficult to see what you are doing. I stayed until the end to see the finished result - and specifically how it looked from the corner of the bed - but you didn't bother to show the most important part! Wish I had fast forwarded to the end before wasting my time.
